About the course

During the fourth semester of Assyriology studies, there is an opportunity to further broaden and deepen your knowledge of language, cuneiform, history and cultural history.

The semester is divided into three parts. During the first part, you follow a course on language or cultural history. To a certain extent it is possible to choose between different types of text, dialects and languages from the ancient Near East. After this there is a course in theory and method where you will get to work hands-on with formulating research questions and overviews of previous research, leading up to the final part of the semester: the Bachelor's thesis. Here you author and defend a thesis under supervision, and based on a research question, author and defend a Bachelor's thesis about a subject that interests you.
