About the course

The course deals with various aspects of modern social conditions in English-speaking countries with an emphasis on the USA and the UK. The multicultural society and the education system in these countries are important parts of the course. It also addresses how knowledge about the different countries can be used in the classroom and how conditions in the English-speaking countries can be compared with conditions in Sweden.

Outline for distance course: The distance course is based on self-study and communication through the web-based learning environment, which contains all information regarding the course and course activities. Teaching takes the form of study instructions and exercises, and discussions. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required to follow the course. Teaching and examination are carried out via the web-based learning platform and Zoom. No meetings on campus are included. Scheduled mandatory online meetings occur. Note that a distance course requires as much effort as an ordinary campus course.
