About the course

In an age where books are read in digital form, to study literature as a physical entity is particularly relevant. This course draws attention to the material carriers which distribute texts in space and time. The course engages with a variety of topics central to the multidisciplinary field of book history, such as publishing history, textual studies, print and media studies, authorship and intellectual property, and the symbolic economy of literary value.
