About the course

In this course, you will have the opportunity to read, analyze, and discuss in French a selection of literary works that are representative of their respective periods. These works are studied within their historical and cultural contexts, providing insight into French culture as well as literary and intellectual history. Through the study of academic articles focusing on the works read, you will learn to identify important analytical methods and critical approaches. This will enable you to deepen your understanding of the texts while developing your ability to analyze literature in a scholarly manner using appropriate terminology. These skills and tools will prove valuable and inspiring when undertaking a degree project or other forms of academic writing.
