About the course

The course is a fast track for comprehending Danish from a Swedish-speaking person's starting point. Swedish speakers often have a hard time understanding Danish. However, as the Danish and Swedish languages are closely related it is only a matter of getting rid of the first few obstacles. A single course will get you far in understanding Danish.

The course covers various aspects of the Danish language, such as its grammar, history, vocabulary and pronunciation. Teaching is based on comparisons with Swedish and highlights the differences between Danish and Swedish.

Outline for distance course: The course is a distance course and is carried out in a learning platform. Access to an internet-connected computer and headset is necessary. The course is based on self-study and communication in the web-based teaching environment and is aimed at those who feel comfortable with digital teaching formats. Learning, knowledge control and supervision take place via the internet. The online meetings are voluntary. You work both individually and in groups. Examination takes place through written and oral tasks as well as exams. Keep in mind that a distance learning course requires as much work as a normal campus course. You are expected to have the ability to plan and manage your own study time.
