About the course

How are men portrayed in games? What roles can men play? In this course, you will explore men and masculinities in games based on five themes: friendship; fatherhood; militarised masculinities; queer masculinities, and men and masculinities more generally. The course involves practical exercises where you investigate different possibilities to design and visualise men and masculinities in games. You will also explore different theoretical perspectives on men and masculinities in, and connected to, games.

Outline for distance course: The course is given as an internet-based course. To follow the course, you will need a computer with a good internet connection and a camera. The lectures are pre-recorded.
