In order to pass the course (grade 3) the student should be able to
Content
Critical examination of how statistics is presented and interpreted. General views on statistical investigations. Basic theory for point and interval estimation, and hypothesis testing. Correlation and regression. Parametric and non-parametric methods. Orientation about statistical software. Statistical investigation in the form of a project.
Instruction
Lectures and problem solving sessions.
Assessment
Written examination (4 credit points) at the end of the course and accomplishment of a minor project (1 credit point). Moreover, compulsory assignments may be given during the course.
