Learning outcomes
The students should after the course be able to show substantial knowledge and ability concerning the interplay between technology, users and designers based on relevant areas in psychology and system construction, as well as experiences in real systems developing projects. This includes knowledge about, as experiences with, work in projects with real users and be able to participate in a project with an external from the university customer. The students should be able to constructively participate in a project group dealing with a complex and multifaceted problem and to present solutions, both orally and in writing.
Content
The course comprises areas such as system construction, group dynamics, communication within a project group as well as with users, and reasoning in moral and ethical issues. A real project will be the main model of delivery in the course, where e.g. design of a prototype for a contemporary problem will be used to illuminate the different areas in the course. Writing a report and delivering oral presentations is part of the course.
Instruction
Lectures, seminars, assignments and project work.
Assessment
The joint project, comprising 9 credits, is examined with participation and a written report. The individual part, comprising 6 credits, is examined with assignments.
