Entry requirements
120 credits including at least 90 credits within computer science or information technology, including Computer Networks II.
Learning outcomes
To pass, the student should be able to:
Show a thourough research based understanding within one area i computer networks through either perform a written analysis or by constructing a prototype reflecting a problem within the chosen area.
Content
The students will apply individually chosen theories from a research area in computer networks. The theories will be of the type that traditionally are applied to advanced computer network courses, and they will be applied in a practical project and a written report, or possibly only in a more substantial report.
Instruction
For the theoretical part, the teaching consists of a small number of lectures and seminars. Other than that, the teaching mostly consists of supervision of project groups and essay teams.
Assessment
The theoretical part is examined through seminar presentations, possibly in combination with written reflections.
The practical part for project groups is examined through a written report, a demonstration and an oral presentation of the project. For essay teams, the course is examined through a written report and a seminar at which the work is presented and opposed upon.
Other directives
The course can not be counted towards graduation together with 1DT077 Wireless communication and networked embedded systems.
