General provisions
The course is an optional course and can be taken on undergraduate level.
Entry requirements
To be accepted to the course there is a requirement of at least one year of studies in Educational Sciences or Political Sciences, 60 credits, or two years of studies in a Teacher Training Programme.
Learning outcomes
The students shall improve their ability to promote international understanding in the teaching profession. They shall acquire a deeper understanding of the general factors that govern the conditions of learning by increasing their knowledge of the importance of teacher education and educational objectives in the shaping of education and the way schooling is formed.
Content
Education and Teaching , 7.5 credits
The role of school in society and the general factors that govern the way education and schooling is organised
Field studies, 7.5 credits
Instruction
The instruction consists of lectures, seminars, group exercises, study visits and tutoring.
Assessment
Written paper to be evaluated first regarding the thoroughness and carefulness of the description given and secondly regarding the amount of analysis made. Grades are awarded according the scale passed with distinction, passed or failed.
