Learning outcomes

In terms of knowledge and understanding, after completed course the student should be able to:

- explain fundamental concepts within enterprise development, such as opertions, organisation, and information and communication technologies,

- describe how information and communication technologies can support opertions,

- describe what an enterprise development process entails,

- describe selected theoretical bodies that support IT-driven business development

In terms of skills and abilities, after completed course the student should be able to:

- analyse an existing opertions in terms of its productivity, efficiency and quality,

- formulate plans for enterprise development using information and communication technologies

- plan for the development of business opertions where the use of information and communication technologies is a key enabler,

In terms of judgment and approach, after completed course the student should be able to:

- evaluate existing plans for business opertions development where information and communication technologies are used as an enabler, in relation to the context and slected theoretical bodies,

- evaluate quality of exiting business opertions that use of information and communication technologies, in relation to the context and selected theoretical bodies;

Content

The course introduces the student to enterprise development throught the use of information and communication technologies. Emphasis is placed on knowledge of and ability to analyse an existing enterprise and formulate development plans. Further, the course will explore how the use of information and communication technologies can impact value creation in an enterprise. The course includes both theoretical foundations and pratical excercises intended to develop the student’s capability to plan and lead qualified enterprise development.

Instruction

Lectures, seminars, supervision, and project work.

Assessment

Examination will be carried out using individual and group assignments. Mandatory attendance is required at some points in the course.

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
