Entry requirements
75 credits in mathematics including Several Variable Calculus M and Linear Algebra II and 15 credits at level G2F. The courses at level G2F may be taken the same semester, prior to or concurrently with the Degree Project. Admission requires a project plan accepted by the department.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to plan, carry out and present an independent work in Mathematics within a given time frame.
Content
The student should apply his or her knowledge from previous courses in Mathematics on some practical or theoretical problems. Alternatively, the student should deepen and expand her or his previous knowledge by an independent study of some new area and by then giving a summary of the area.
Instruction
Individual supervision or supervision in groups by a supervisor.
Assessment
A report should be written and then presented and discussed at a seminar.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
