Entry requirements

A passing grade on all compulsory components/examinations/assessments in semesters 1, 2, 3 and 4.

A passing grade on all except one compulsory component/examination/assessment in semester 5.

A passing grade on a placement in semester 5.

Learning outcomes

The course is intended to enable students to deepen and develop their clinical skills in an area of activity of their choice.

On completing the course, students should have the following abilities in their chosen area of activity:

COMPETENCE AND SKILLS

1. Acquire and apply knowledge and skills in examination, treatment and evaluation methods in physiotherapy

2. Work ergonomically and with good patient safety

3. Document actions in medical records

JUDGEMENT AND APPROACH

4. Interact with relatives and staff

5. Analyse and evaluate clinical physiotherapeutic conduct in relation to evidence and proven experience (clinical reflection)

Content

The course comprises 7.5 HE credits clinical placement and contains:

Methods for examination, preventive and treatment measures and evaluation clinically applied for individual patients and groups.

Instruction

Individual supervision when planning, implementing, following-up and assessing tasks during the clinical placement

Assessment

Passing the course requires:

Approved performance according to assessment criteria in "Instruments for development and assessment in placement", to assess learning outcomes 1-5.

Approved written individual report, including a patient case report based on the working model used, as well as a report on individual intended learning outcomes, to assess learning outcome 5.

Students who have failed their clinical placement have the right to repeat it once (1 time), i.e. a total of two (2) opportunities. If special circumstances apply, the programme committee can permit an additional opportunity.

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may decide to make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. Special circumstances can include notification of special educational support from the university disability coordinator.
