Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree and, in addition, at least 30 credits in sustainable development at Master's level, including courses at Master's level that are necessary for the project. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- show a in-depth knowledge within a chosen problem within the field of sustainable development
- search and in a critical way interpret, apply, and compile relevant scientific literature with academically relevant connections to the chosen issue
- under supervision, being able to delimit a scientific problem, investigate it, interpret and value obtained results, and professionally present them in oral and written form
- present the results in correct language for different target groups both in scientific and societal fields
- give opposition with focus on constructive criticism on other theses texts within the study field
Content
An independent project is carried out, where the knowledge from earlier completed courses are applied on a suitable chosen issue. The project is guided by a supervisor with professional connection to ongoing projects in research or development with relevance for the chosen question.
Instruction
The supervision is adapted individually dependent on project layout and planning.
Assessment
Oral and written presentation of the degree project is required. The written presentation should consist of a scientific report, a popular summary in Swedish or English as well as a scientific summary in English. The student must also act as opponent on another degree project within same main area
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
Other directives
The report must be properly registered in the database DIVA before the final course grade can be registered.
