Entry requirements

180 credits including 10 credits Computer Programming and 20 credits at Master's level in Industrial engineering and management and/or Computer Science. Participation in the course Data Engineering I. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, students should be able to:

• describe and interpret advanced project management models and theories such as agile and extreme,
• identify the ethical considerations for developing applications based on extended reality (XR),
• identify potential advantages and limitations of and system requirements for using XR tools in complex industrial projects,
• define, plan and carry out a structured project together with other students, within given parameters and proceeding from a generally stated problem, and reflect on and develop the cooperation of the group during the process,
• present and discuss the course content orally and in writing with appropriate skills for the educational level, and give constructive criticism on others' work.

Content

Project where students will solve an industrial question. Application of techniques in extended reality (XR). Ethical issues in the use of XR. Analysis and critical review of the advantages, limitations and system requirements of different XR tools. Overview of agile and extreme project models.

Instruction

Lectures, seminars and supervision of project work.

Assessment

Written and oral presentation of project work (8 credits), written and oral opposition on a project report from another group of students (1 cr), and active participation i seminars (1 cr).

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding targeted pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
