Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student shall be able to:
- critically reflect on and assess possible choices of content and methods in the subject of physics with regard to students' learning
- demonstrate knowledge and skills in physics didactics, including instructional methodology in different teaching and learning situation
- demonstrate good written and oral ability in support of teaching of physics
- present and discuss results from physics education research
- reflect on and analyze teaching and learning in physics from physics didactic perspectives
- plan, prepare and implement subject didactic-based teaching in physics.
Content
Central physics-didactic research results and their application in the preparation for instruction. Teaching methods. Planning of assessment and grading in relation to instructional forms and approaches used. Communication skills. Connections to every-day life, learning of concepts and education on the nature of science. Active learning and communication within the disciplinary culture of physics. Learning and assessment of general and subject-specific skills and abilities in physics.
Instruction
Seminars and practical exercises.
Assessment
Hand-in problems and final project in subject didactics with oral and written report. Active participation in seminars and exercises.
