Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Also required is 90 credits in psychology with at least 7.5 credits in methods and statistics. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should be able to
- account for the theoretical foundations of psychological measurement with regard to central psychological data collection methods and model testing
- discuss and evaluate the reliability of different types of psychological data collection methods
- be able to choose the data collection method and assess its applicability to various psychological problems
Content
The course presents measurement methods in psychology - theory and application - currently qualitative method, item response theory, questionnaire, implicit measurement, observation, psychophysics, brain imaging, and motion measurement. The course also includes research ethics.
Instruction
The teaching is given in the form of lessons, seminars and demonstrations. Teaching is given in English.
Assessment
The student's knowledge is assessed with written individual tests. Also, active participation in seminars and demonstrations is required.
