Aims

The course presents basic knowledge in biomaterials, material derivatisation, analyses of biomaterials and knowledge about biomolecular-surface interactions and analysis.

Content

Introduction to surface physics and biomaterials. Methods for surface derivatisation and surface characterisation. Methods for studies of biomolecular surface interactions. Theory for biomolecular surface interactions and applications in Bioseparation, Diagnostics, Drug Delivery and Bioimplants. During the course opportunities are given for spoken and written reports.

Instruction

Lecturers, seminars, demonstration laboratory work.

Assessment

Written examination during the course or at the end of the course. Written examination 4 points, laboratory work 1 point.
