Mathematics, 90 ECTS credits.

Aims

The course will introduce modern differential geometry, in particular manifolds.

Content

Differentiable manifolds. The tangent space at a

point and the tangent bundle. Tensors.

Riemannian manifolds. Exterior algebra and

exterior differential forms. Integration on

manifolds. Stokes' theorem. Connections and

differentiation of vector fields. Curvature.

Instruction

Lectures and problem solving sessions.

Assessment

Written and usually oral examination at the end

of the course. Moreover, compulsory assignments

may be given during the course.
