Entry requirements
The participant is required to be qualified for admission to engineering education or to have equivalent background knowledge.
Aims
In this course, the student will acquire
- the ability to work in a project team with people with various previous knowledge
- basic knowledge and skills in using IT-equipment
- basic knowledge in information retrieval
- proficiency in using spoken and written language in technology matters
- capacity for writing and presenting a technical report.
Content
IT-facilities: Producing and presenting a report using the programmes Word, Excel, Power Point etc. Communication via Internet. Information retrieval: libraries, databases, Internet. Language: Oral language, written language, technical language.
Technical/scientific report: Subject, investigation process, disposition, tables, figures, references. Production and presentation of a technical report. Oral presentation: The rhetorical rules for planning and performing the speech.
Instruction
Lectures, lessons, exercises and a project involving all engineering programmes.
Assessment
Examination is arranged through compulsory assignments within separate parts of the course. In order to obtain a pass, all assignments must be completed and approved.
