Aims

In the MSc thesis work the student shall apply knowledge achieved during the four years of study within the programme by independently solving a problem and presenting the solution in a report. The MSc thesis work shall also expose the student to research and development.

Content

Individual work where knowledge achieved within

the programme is applied and deepened. The

subject of the thesis is chosen before start of

the work by the student in consultation with

the supervisor and the examiner. The work is

performed in an industrial company, an university

department or at a central or local authority.

The course also contains studies of literature

connected to the chosen subject.

Instruction

Individual supervision and seminars.

Assessment

The MSc thesis work shall be presented in a report written in English or in Swedish with an English abstract. The report shall contain an introduction to the subject area, a description of the objective of the work and the overall design to solve the problem, methods used, results, discussion, references to the literature and a list of literature read in connection with the

thesis work. The work shall also be presented

orally at a seminar.
