Entry requirements
At least 20 points/30 ECTS credits in mathematics,
20 points/30 ECTS credits in physics,
Boundary Layer Meteorology or equivalent.
An intensive course can be given for Students who
have not read Boundary Layer Meteorology.
Aims
To give theoretical and practical knowledge of energy fluxes over land and sea.
Content
The basic about field experiments, fluxes and gradients.
Conditions over land:
a. Resistance
b. Water balance and evaporation
c. The energy balance and combination models
Conditions over sea:
a. Exchange of impulse, sensible heat and water vapour over sea
b. Interaction between wind- and sea waves
c. Models describing the exchanges at sea surface.
Instruction
The course consists of a number of seminars, where the students must take an active part with presentations and discussions.
Assessment
The examination take place during the course. A Student that has not been active in the discussions must do a complementary examination.
