Application guide
For the international admission round, most Master's programmes require you to apply through the national applications system run by University Admissions in Sweden. This is done on the website www.universityadmissions.se. It is possible to apply only during the two official admission rounds. Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure you submit a complete application.
Step-by-step application guide
Step 1: Find your Master's programme
The first thing you need to do is figure out what you want to study. See and compare over 120 international Master's programmes at Uppsala University in our study programmes catalogue on our website.
If you are unsure what to study, you can also look for programmes based on your background or interest on our subjects page.
Step 2: Check the entry requirements and apply online
- Make sure you meet the general entry requirements that apply to all our Master's programmes.
- See the programme-specific entry requirements for the programme you are interested in. To find the specific requirements, click on the Master's programme you are interested in and read the information under the section “Application and requirements”.
- Start your application: create an account on the Universityadmissions.se website.
- Rank your programme choices in order of preference and submit them before the application deadline. How you rank your programme choices is very important. See how to rank your preferences.
Step 3: Submit your documents
- Read about how to document your eligibility and how to submit your supporting documents at universityadmissions.se.
- There are a number of country-specific rules for submitting academic documents. See the information specific to your country.
- Prepare and submit your general supporting documents to University Admissions: including your official transcripts, Bachelor's diploma (or proof of expected graduation, if you are in your final year of Bachelor's studies), proof of English proficiency, and passport.
- Prepare and submit your programme-specific supporting document(s): such as a statement of purpose, application summary sheet, CV, letter of recommendation, copy or summary of Bachelor's thesis, etc. To find out which programme-specific document(s) you need to submit for a particular programme and instructions about the documents, view the section “Application and requirements” on each Master's programme webpage.
Step 4: Pay the application fee
If you are required to pay tuition fees, you should pay the application fee to University Admissions before the deadline. The application fee is SEK 900. The deadline for receipt of the application fee is 3 February. This means the payment needs to arrive at University Admissions by the deadline. You should therefore find out how long it may take for the international payment transition and pay the fee in time. If the application fee is paid late, your application will be considered late and it will also make you ineligible for scholarships.
