About the course

The course provides knowledge in developmental processes during tissue development and organogenesis, including the development of the nervous system. A special focus will be directed towards the ontogeny of humans, mouse, zebrafish and invertebrates. The course discusses the molecular mechanisms shaping organisms, e.g. regulation of gene expression, cell signalling, cell migration, cell differentiation and pattern formation.

The course will further address the role of gene variants in disease onset and progression in humans. You will gain hands-on experience in CRISPR/Cas9 genome modification and perform advanced imaging of developing embryonic tissue in zebrafish.
