Entry requirements

90 credits including 60 credits in sustainable energy transition with progressive specialisation including Philosophy of Science and Methodology in an Interdisciplinary Context. Participation in Research Design and Methodology in an Interdisciplinary Context.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course the student shall be able to:

  • plan, conduct and present an independent project in the field of sustainable energy transition according to relevant disciplinary and interdisciplinary work methods.
  • in an independent way identify and formulate research questions of relevance for an sustainable energy transition.
  • in an independent way gather, compile, evaluate and critically interpret relevant information in relation to a formulated problem as well as discuss phenomenon and issues critically.
  • in an independent way define and evaluate ethical questions with relevance for sustainable development.
  • scientifically communicate in written and oral form.
  • critically evaluate and provide constructive feedback on another independent project (with regards to set-up and realization of a research study).

Content

The course consists of a Thesis work in Sustainable Energy Transition at a Bachelor's degree level. The student works, under close supervision, with question(s) formulation and performs literature review in the field, collects data, interprets, analyses and documents the findings by applying scientific research methods. The student also gives feedback on another independent project.

Instruction

The student performs, with feedback from the Thesis supervisor, independent research, report writing and presentation.

Assessment

To pass the course satisfactory results are needed regarding performance of the project work, written and oral presentation of the project as well as opposition for another independent project in a seminar.

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated

and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding

special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
