Entry requirements

Meteorology, Hydrology and Environmental Measurement Techniques (1TV015), 15 credits.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should:

  • be able to use MATLAB to analyse climate data from reanalysis products and climate models
  • have knowledge about how to present analyses of meteorological observations, weather forecats and climate data for different groups
  • have skill to perform manual meteorological observations
  • be abale to present the meteorological observation network and its role in the forecastprocess

Statistical and graphical treatment of meteorological information in MATLAB

Climate studies using reanalysis and climate model data

Oral and written presentation

Assessment

Written project report ( 2 credits), oral presentations and seminars (3 credits).

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
