One credit in Electrical Measurement Methods.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course. the student should be able to:

  • describe and use different methods for analysing linear circuits,
  • analyse frequency and phase pass for passive filters and use Bode diagrams,
  • construct circuits and amplifiers using OP amplifiers,
  • use diodes and linear integrated circuits,
  • construct combinatorial networks and sequencing networks with flip-flops,
  • use simulation programs for analysis and construction of electronic circuits.

Content

Analog electronics: Thévenin's and Norton's theorems. Methods of circuit analysis. Transfer functions, cut-off frequency, Bode diagrams. Operation amplifiers, feedback, OP Circuits, amplifiers. Diodes, integrated circuits, voltage regulators.

Digital electronics: basic digital circuits, Boolean algebra, Karnaughdiagram. Analysis and design of combinatorial circuits and synchronous sequential logic circuits. A/D and D/A converters. Computer simulation of analog and digital circuits.

Instruction

Lectures, exercises, laborative work.

Assessment

Written exams (4 credits), laboratory work (1 credit).

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
