Entry requirements: One of the following is required: (1) 60 credits of which at least 40 credits in chemistry including 10 credits in organic chemistry, or (2) 60 credits within the Upper Secondary School Teacher Education Programme of which at least 30 credits in chemistry, including 10 credits in organic chemistry

About the course
The course provides insight into the correlation between the structure of organic compounds and their physical properties and reactivity. Discussion of important reaction mechanisms, practical exercises in the use of literature and databases, and planning and execution of fundamental organic transformations. Risk assessment, documentation of experimental data, and presentation of results. Use of spectroscopic and chromatographic methods that are relevant for organic chemistry.
