About the course

Within almost all professions, computers are used to support part of the work. Some users are satisfied with their IT systems but many experiences the IT systems to be unnecessarily cumbersome and that they are making work more difficult. This is also one of the main reasons why many deployments of new IT systems fail.

This course is about methods for finding out how IT systems should be designed, focusing on supporting professional users to do their jobs. The terms usability and user-centred design are put in context with agile software engineering. The first iteration of an agile development project is also performed in the course, to give practical experience in identifying and refining requirements through observation studies, interviews, needs analysis, contextual design, and evaluation.
