About the course
The course gives both academic and practical perspectives on Swedish-American relations. It focuses on the development and nature of contacts between Sweden and the area that today constitutes the United States from about the year 1000 to the present time. Applying interdisciplinary perspectives, the course addresses social, political, economic, and cultural dimensions of the movement of people and ideas. Through guest lectures and study visits, the course provides insights into contemporary practices in, for example, the cultural heritage sector, foreign service, business, and the media.
