Joint the Friday Seminar in Africa Studies with Prof. Rosa De Jorio, University of North Florida on The Politics of Gender-Based Violence in the Work of Mali’s Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC): Testimony, Representation, and Institutional Framing.
Rosa De Jorio is Professor of Anthropology at the University of North Florida, and affiliated Senior Researcher at the Forum. Prof. De Jorio will visit the Forum for a week to, including participating in the Sahel Symposium. On Friday 20 March, she will give a seminar on her research on the Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commission in Mali.
Professor Rosa De Jorio is a long-term collaborator of the Forum, most notably within the Mande Studies Association. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the flagship journal Mande Studies 2019-2024. Furthermore, De Rosa De Jorio and Sten Hagberg co-edited a special issue on Mande Studies 2019, entitled "Même pas peur ! Ethnographies of Security in the Sahel".
