Urban Lecture on Health and Urban Planning Draws Large Audience

On 8 October, this year’s Uppsala Lecture in Housing and Urban Research was held with Professor Rich Mitchell from the University of Glasgow as keynote speaker.

Under the title “Time. Space. Misery. Hope. What can I do about urban health inequalities?” Mitchell spoke about how urban green spaces can promote health and help reduce inequalities.

The lecture took place in Brusewitzsalen and attracted a large and engaged audience. It was followed by a well-received reception that offered opportunities for further discussion.

The event was organized by the Institute for Housing and Urban Research (IBF) in collaboration with the Centre for Health Economic Research (HEFUU) and its Urban Health research program.

Professor Rich Mitchell is an epidemiologist and geographer whose research has had a significant impact on policy and practice in the UK and internationally.
