Benyamin Naranjani, PhD student at SweDeliver and Uppsala University's Department of Pharmacy, defends his thesis Mechanics of intestinal motility for oral macromolecular delivery.

Within the framework of international competence center SweDeliver, Uppsala University's research environment in oral drug delivery has consolidated its position at the absolute forefront of the field. In his doctoral project, Benyamin Naranjani presents new insights how physiological factors in interaction with effective formulation and administration of permeation enhancers and peptide drugs can pave new way for oral delivery of biological drugs.
Friday 10 October, Benyamin Naranjani defends his thesis at Uppsala Biomedical Center. Supervisor is Per Larsson, Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy. Opponent is Christian Gasser, Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology.
RESEARCHER BIO
Benyamin Naranjani was born in 1992 in Iran, to Dr. Adineh Mohammad Naranjani and Zahra Eghbal. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2015 and his Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 2018, both from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.
In 2021, Benyamin moved to Sweden to pursue doctoral studies at Uppsala University. His dissertation work was conducted at the Department of Pharmacy under the supervision of Associate Professor Per Larsson with co-supervisors Professor Christel Bergström, Associate Professor Shakhawath Hossain, and Dr. Patrick Sinko.
