Meet the students that are up for the best summer job of 2022
“It is fantastic that Uppsala University provides its students, not least us from other countries, this extraordinary opportunity," states Jessica Mahajan, Master's student in Drug Discovery and Development and one of six students selected to do a summer internship at SweDeliver's industrial partners.

For the second consecutive summer, SweDeliver offers Master's students in the later part of their education the opportunity to do a six week research internship at one of the competence center's 16 industrial partners. Student interest has been extensive, and after a meticulous selection process, six candidates recently received notice that they are up for an experience filled with laboratory work along the very front of drug delivery.
“To get this, completely unique opportunity by SweDeliver is an important step in realising my ambitions for a career in research and development within the pharmaceutical industry. I hope to bring with me knowledge and an overall comprehension of industrial operations, which will be of future benefit to both employers and society,” says Sunniva Lin, student at Uppsala University's Master's Programme in Pharmaceutical Modelling.
The six summer interns will play an active part in ongoing research projects, which requires that they are committed, ready for hard work and willing to give their utmost to learn more about the field of drug delivery. In exchange, the students will receive full pay, industrial experience and the opportunity to make important contacts.
“It is fantastic that Uppsala University provides its students, not least us from other countries, this extraordinary opportunity. To utilise my theoretical knowledge at a European company will add important value to my personal and professional development, and most likely enhance my prospects throughout a future professional career,” states Jessica Mahajan, student at Uppsala University's Master's Programme in Drug Discovery and Development.
The investment in summer interns is one of many strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening students' involvement in SweDeliver's research areas, thus, expanding the platform for future recruitments of undergraduate students and PhD students. It is also a step for the center to contribute to increased mobility between academia and industry.
“With our commitment to SweDeliver, we want to further strengthen our scientific rigor, culture of innovation, and value as a partner. Therefore, we look forward to welcoming Kristin Keesee, Master's student in Molecular Biology and Physiology, to our development lab this summer to participate in our laboratory work, says Jens Ceulemans, Scientific Director Biopharmaceuticals at Janssen Pharmaceuticals in Beerse, Belgium.
