Sophie Nadia Gaber, Docent at U-CARE, has been awarded a grant of SEK 4 999 000 from Forte for the project ‘SOVA – Co-designing and feasibility testing an intervention to improve sleep in people living with dementia and their family carers in Sweden’.

The project aims to develop and test a sleep intervention for people living with dementia and their family carers in a Swedish context.

Sophie Nadia Gaber is the principal investigator of the project.

- I am very pleased to receive this grant. Sleep problems are common among people living with dementia and their family carers, yet support options remain limited. We hope the project will contribute to better sleep and improved quality of life for those affected by dementia, says Sophie Nadia Gaber.

The project uses a collaborative approach with people with lived experience of dementia and caregiving, as well as partners from health and social care, and community-based organisations.
