About us

ÅMA is a platform for strategic collaboration in materials science that brings academia, industry and other stakeholders together to facilitate research and development projects and innovations that contribute to meeting our social challenges.

ÅMA organisation

ÅMA is an open platform made up of participants from academia, industry and other stakeholders. The orientation of activities is determined by a steering group.

The steering group comprises representatives of:

  • Industry representatives from ABB, Alleima, Hitachi Energy, Sandvik Coromant and Volvo Cars.
  • University departments with strong links to materials science (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Department of Chemistry, Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Physics and Astronomy).
  • Management within the Faculty of Science and Technology
  • Management of the Uppsala University Innovation Partnership Office

All activities within ÅMA are run by employees of Uppsala University. The work is coordinated by collaboration managers from the UU Innovation Partnership Office.

The activities within the platform are meant to stimulate interaction among participants from different sectors and facilitate greater mobility and exchange between academia, industry and other stakeholders.

Communications about activities within the platform and the organisations involved should lead to keener interest in collaboration within materials science.
