Short presentation
Lisa Högkil, PhD-student in Sociology of Education. I explore the making of ‘musical beings’ at an elite music school. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork and by developing the psychoanalytic undertones in Bourdieu’s writings, I investigate the process of musical socialisation and the social conditions of sublimation: the orientation of a music-specific drive and desire.
