Short presentation
I am doing my PhD in Sociology of Education (since March 2022), investigating how children are socially shaped through an education in classical music, as it is conducted in a Swedish music-profiled compulsory school. Specifically, I study how this intensive and resource-demanding musical education at the same time brings forth an preparation for elite positions in the social world, an elite formation that is misrecognized as such by the official ambition to educate classical musicians.
