Jules Han Amm

Short presentation

I'm a PhD Candidate in gender studies. My PhD project "On breaking with T: Displaying dis/continuities of transition on YouTube" explores the non-normative transition narratives of transmasculine video bloggers who discontinue exogenous testosterone.

In my work, I engage in the fields of trans studies, somatechnics, men and masculinity studies, and queer studies, among others. I'm also a poet and a painter, and I seek to combine artistic expressions with academic writing.

Biography

I have a background in development studies and gender studies.

I'm currently a guest lecturer at the Department of Game Design. There I teach the MA-level course Men, Masculinities and Games.

I coordinate the Queer Seminar together with Fanny Wendt Höjer.

Research

My ongoing PhD project: "On breaking with T: Displaying dis/continuities of transition on YouTube" 

My PhD project is part of the Graduate School in Gender, Humanities and Digital Cultures (GENHDI).

I'm also part of the Technologization of the Everyday and the Queer Studies research group at the Centre for Gender Research.
