Biography

Einar Iveroth is Associate Professor Docent and Distinguished University Teacher at Uppsala University. His academic work integrates research, teaching, supervision, and societal engagement in the areas of organizational change, management control, leadership, strategic pricing, sustainability, and digital transformation.

His research focuses on how organizational change unfolds over time, how it is governed and led, and how organizations use control systems, leadership practices, pricing models, and digital technologies to navigate uncertainty and transformation. Across his work, he is particularly interested in the relationship between strategic ambitions and organizational action: how ideas, technologies, sustainability ambitions, and control mechanisms are translated into practice.

A recurring theme in his research is how organizations manage complex transitions, including digital transformation, sustainability transitions, and the growing role of data and artificial intelligence in management, governance, and control.

His recent books include: ”Leading Digital Transformation: Management, Governance and Control”, "Leadership and Digital Change: The Digitalization Paradox", “Effective Organizational Change: Leading through Sensemaking”, and Digitalisering & Styrning (in Swedish).

Einar is also Chair of the Advisory Board associated with Ekonomistyrningsforum, the organization behind the annual Controllerdagen conference. In this role, he contributes to long-term knowledge exchange between academia, business, and the public sector on current and emerging issues in management control, leadership, digitalization, and organizational development. Prior to joining Uppsala University, he worked in both the private and public sectors with organizational development, innovation management, and work environment improvement.

Outside academia, he enjoys spending time in the archipelago, where he likes building, fishing, cooking, reading, and occasionally retreating to a hammock.

Einar teaches and supervises across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, and is currently involved in the following courses:
