Description
The rising geopolitical tensions worldwide induce widespread sanctions, which are a major concern to firms engaged in cross-border transactions. The research on sanctions predominantly focuses on the macro-level effects, while neglecting firm-level effects. This project aims to investigate the effects of economic sanctions on Swedish firms’ international supply networks by conducting in-depth case studies. Understanding this topic can shed considerable light on how Swedish firms can react better to sanctions, maintain the resilience of their global value chains (GVCs), and leverage their international presence in this turbulent policy environment. It will also provide policymakers and managers implications in formulating strategies to reconfigure supply chain activities for resilient GVCs in response to sanctions.
