Research on solutions for storage, distribution, and refueling — with the goal of enabling the use of hydrogen in the maritime transport sector.
The research group, led by Björn Samuelsson, works to promote the energy transition within the transport sector. The group runs projects aimed at creating a comprehensive system for the production, storage, distribution, and refueling of hydrogen, with the goal of enabling ferries to operate entirely without fossil fuels.
Through collaboration with several partners, the research combines advanced technology, renewable energy supply, and practical solutions for ports and vessels. The projects address both technical and safety-related challenges, paving the way for sustainable and reliable hydrogen-based shipping.
