Weronica Ek receives the Oscar Prize

Uppsala University’s Oscar Prize for young researchers is this year awarded IGP researcher Weronica Ek.

Weronica Ek works in Åsa Johansson’s research group and her research focuses on how environmental and genetic factors influence the development of immunological disease such as asthma and allergies.

The Oscar Prize is each year awarded a young researcher at Uppsala University “whose scientific writing is the most deserving and offers the greatest promise of continued academic writings at the University. It can be shared between two equally deserving. The first Oscar Prize was awarded already in 1879.

The second awardee of this year’s Oscar Prize is Ylva Söderfeldt, Department of History of Science and Ideas. The prize will be presented at the winter conferment ceremony in January.
