About the Department of Food Studies, Nutrition and Dietetics

The Department of Food Studies, Nutrition and Dietetics is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Uppsala University. More than 25 people work at the department in various positions, including professors, senior lecturers, postdocs and doctoral students. Nearly 200 full-time students are educated at the department every year.

History of the Department
In 1892 the foundation for the department was laid when Uppsala enskilda läroverk was formed on the initiative of Professors J. A. Lundell and Adolf Noreen.
