Göran Gustafsson prizes to Verónica Rendo and Anzhelika Vorobyeva

Verónica Rendo and Anzhelika Vorobyeva have both been awarded Göran Gustafsson’s Prize for young researchers.

Verónica Rendo has received the three-year Göran Gustafsson prize of in total SEK 3.75 million. Her research focuses on uncovering the mechanisms by which brain tumour cells evolve and become resistant to treatment

Anzhelika Vorobyeva has been awarded the lesser Göran Gustafsson prize for young researchers, which is a one-year grant of SEK 1.25 million. She and her research team are developing new approaches to make cancer treatment more precise and less harmful.

The Göran Gustafsson Foundation is made up by two foundations with different objectives where one issues prizes in medicine and engineering physics at Uppsala University and in engineering physics at KTH in Stockholm.
