Description
Karine Åkerman Sarkisian, Associate Professor in Russian, participates in the project "Cultural evolution of texts". The project is coordinated by Michael Dunn at the Department of Linguistics and Philology, and in total four researchers from Uppsala University and Lund University participate.
The researchers analyse how religious and instructional texts are passed down through time. They look for answers to questions about how cultural knowledge is passed down through generations, which processes promote the fidelity of transmission of texts and if there are regularities in the processes of change that texts undergo.
