Research at the Department of Social Work
At the department of social work, a number of research projects are conducted with a close connection to the practice of social work and which touch on social issues, their causes and consequences at the individual, group, and societal level. We have several junior and senior researchers with different theoretical and methodological orientations. Their research projects touch on topics within the core areas of social work such as vulnerability in children and families, various forms of violence, mental illness, elderly and care, conversations in social work, the work of social services, disabilities, and legal processes.
Research groups

The group examines institutional conversations in various welfare contexts, and a recurring focus is on how professionals and clients understand each other and carry out different conversational tasks, such as assessment, support, or information exchange.

Conceptualising ConTrol and Violence
CCTV is a research group at the Department of Social Work, dedicated to deepening our understanding of violence and control. We explore how these phenomena are defined, legitimized, and enacted in everyday life, in institutional settings, and through legal and policy frameworks.
