Setting up new equipment
In cooperation with our clients, UUBF offers a wide range of behavioural tests and the equipment needed for these. There is, however, always the potential to refine existing equipment, replace old hardware, or design and establish new tests requiring new equipment.

The staff at the Biomedical Centre workshop can help you with custom-built solutions for your equipment. Uppsala University offers a 3D printing service, U-print, for the design and fabrication of small plastic parts. UUBF can also help you design equipment. Please email UUBF for details if you are interested in support with equipment design.
How to apply for UUBF support for your equipment
In order for UUBF to support the purchase of your equipment, we need some information:
- A description of the equipment that you need and the tests you want to perform with the equipment.
- Quotes for the equipment in question to determine whether co-funding is possible within the UUBF budget.
- In case the equipment is a replacement for one that is already present at UUBF, please motivate the advantages of the new equipment.

Feel free to contact us about your plans before applying. This way, we can work out the best solution for you and all UUBF clients. We do, however, need a written application to present the proposal to the UUBF steering group for a decision.
What equipment can be funded?
UUBF co-funds a wide variety of different equipment. The main criterion for co-funding by UUBF is that the proposed equipment can be of interest for a wider audience of UUBF customers.
What amount can be funded?
If a proposed equipment is accepted for co-funding by UUBF, up to 50% of the total cost of the equipment can be taken over by UUBF. An exception to this is equipment up to a cost of 10’000 SEK which can be fully funded by UUBF. Decisions are made on an individual basis, no strict upper limit is applied.
Who can use the co-funded equipment?
All UUBF clients will have the possibility to book and use the equipment. However, the applicant will have the priority to book the equipment as they are supplying part of the financing. For more details please refer to our main services page.
