1977-2005
TSL version 1
1977- 1987
The cyclotron was rebuilt and the facility was expanded with new premises and experimental spaces.
TSL - The Svedberg Laboratory is formed.
1987-2005
The facility now contained experimental halls for nuclear physics, biomedicine and proton therapy. In addition, the accelerator ring CELSIUS had been added, which enabled nuclear particle and elementary particle experiments.
Research was at its peak and new experimental techniques were invented and developed. This led, among other things, to the fact that several results from CELSIUS experiments were included in particle physics' "Michelinguide" (PDG)
When TSL was at its peak, there were over 300 users, of which around half came from abroad.
