Compulsory course in research ethics
The seven faculties of medicine in Sweden have developed the online course Research Ethics for Researchers in Medicine. The aim is to give an overview of research ethics and introduce ethical guidelines and regulations that researchers in Sweden must adhere to.
All new research or teaching staff and all those taking on the role of principal supervisor for the first time should complete the Research Ethics for Researchers in Medicine training programme.
Already employed staff should be given the opportunity to complete the course, as well as staff affiliated with Centres for Clinical Research, other centres and equivalent units, and staff at Region Uppsala affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Everyone should repeat the training every ten years.
