The entire thesis defence application is presented during the consultation.

Necessary ethical authorisations are presented during the consultation.

All proposed examining committee members are docents (associate professors) or have equivalent qualifications.

If a selected examining committee member is not a docent (associate professor), their CV is attached.

Only one member from the home department* in the examining committee.

At least one member from another university or another organisation in the examining committee.

Co-publication has occurred between supervisor and examining committee members in the last 5 years.

Co-publication has occurred between supervisor and external reviewer in the last 5 years.

There is a supervisor-doctoral student relationship between a supervisor and an examining committee member.

There is a supervisor-doctoral student relationship between a supervisor and the external reviewer.

There is a close collaboration between a supervisor and an examining committee member.

There is a close collaboration between a supervisor and the chair of the thesis defence.

There is a close collaboration between a supervisor and the external reviewer.

The doctoral student has written a summary of the thesis with a list of integral papers, including the publication status of each paper.

The principal supervisor has written a statement about the doctoral student’s contribution and the novelty of the thesis.

The report card completed, signed by all supervisors and relevant head(s) of department, and attached.

The doctoral student is the primary author or co-primary author of a sufficient number of papers (half or more than half).

The scope and content of the thesis seems, in general, to be adequate: number of sections, type of sections, choice of subject, etc.

There is an account of how many times each paper has been or will be used in another thesis: the name of the doctoral student, the title/provisional title of the thesis.
